AIIMS metro station is patient-friendly

New Delhi, Apr 18 (PTI) With thousands of passengers expected to use the station due to its proximity to two premier hospitals, the DMRC has specially designed the AIIMS Metro junction to enable passengers to directly go to AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital without having to cross the road.The station has been strategically constructed right between AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospitals on Aurobindo Road, so that patients can be conveniently taken to any of the hospitals from the Metro station, a DMRC spokesman said.The station expected to have a footfall of 60,000 everyday by next year, is part of the Central Secretariat-Gurgaon corridor which will be thrown open to the public in June.To facilitate free movement of patients to the hospital from the station and vice-versa, four entrances have been constructed.
