he travel to world famous tourist destinations - Nathu La, Tsomgo Lake (Chhangu Lake) and Baba Mandir has become dearer with effect from today following upward revision of the fare, according to the revised fare slabs released by the tourism department.
The package tour to these three destinations by a Mahindra Max vehicle will now cost about Rs 8000 comprising 15 per cent service charge, environment cess, transport fees and contingeny amounts.
The tourists will have to fork out an additional Rs 800 if they want to travel by luxury vehicles of SK-06 series.
For the tourists visiting only Tsomgo Lake (Chhangu Lake) by Mahindra Max vehicle, they will have to pay about Rs. 3000 comprising environmental cess, service charge and other expenses, but the travel to this destination by a luxury vehicle will cost an additional Rs 800.
The fare for Baba Mandir has been revised to Rs 2717 for a Mahindra Max vehicle and an additional Rs 800 for luxury vehiclesm while the same for vans and cars will be Rs 2117.
The tourist authorities have asked the tour operators and unregistered operators to adhere strictly to the revised fare slab while charging the tourists for the two-way travel to the destinations on Nathu La-Tsomgo Lake- Baba Mandir circuit.
The new rates will be displayed prominently at the tourist office, tourist information centres and websites for the convenience of the potential visitors, the officials said.
