Guwahati, Dec 30 (PTI) The 74th Senior
National Badminton Championship will be held
here from January two.
"More than 500 players and officials will
participate in the tournament to be held till
January 10," Himanta Biswa Sarma, senior
minister and President of Assam Badminton
Association which is holding the event, told
reporters in a press conference today.
The tournament will be conducted in three
phases with the qualifying round to be held on
January two and three, the interstate and inter-
zonal rounds on January four and seven and the
senior national badminton tournament from
January six to ten, he said.
The winners of the men's and women's singles
will win a Maruti Suzuki A-star car as the winners
prize apart from pocketing a total prize money of
Rs 6.25 lakh, Sarma said.
