Two militants were killed in an encounter on Tuesday with police commandos at Laphupokpi area of Imphal East district, official sources said.
Police commandos patrolling the area noticed suspicious movement after which the militants started firing at the police team.
An encounter ensued and two unidentified militants were killed in the exchange of fire, officials said.
The bodies were sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital for post-mortem.
Ten militants were killed in insurgency-related cases so far.
