Over 30,000 people attempt world''s longest painting in honour of Swami Vivekananda

Vadodara, Feb. 3 (ANI): Over 30,000 schoolchildren and local residents came together here on Sunday to attempt a 17 kilometre-long painting in honour of spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda.

Participants from all walks of life assembled at a park early in the morning, paying their respects at a statue of the spiritual leader, before proceeding to paint 1.25 million square feet of canvas, as an attempt towards making the longest painting in the world.

The venue was a hive of frenetic activity as the participants worked at expressing their respect for Vivekananda.

"We feel very proud and have been excited about this since the morning. We have expressed our respect to Swami Vivekananda through this painting," said Jai, a student.

Tourists also lent a hand at the event, overwhelmed with the show of togetherness by the people of the city. (ANI)
