NE goddess rocks Hollywood

She puts the “sting” back in Scorpion King.
This Indian goddess appears out of the sandy landscape of the desert like a mirage. If you’ve got a DVD player, you can watch this beautiful mirage over and over again.

Today’s Babe of the Day Karen David was born near the Himalayas, in a place called Shillong, Meghalaya. Which, for those of you less traveled than my internet-roving fingers, is in India. She moved to Toronto before relocating to London to study acting. A singer and songwriter, she appeared in the original cast of Mamma Mia! before segueing into television and film.
“Is that The Rock?”
Karen landed a role in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins as “Courthouse Reporter” before appearing in the controversial film Provoked: A True Story, which is about a Punjabi woman imprisoned for murdering her abusive husband. She then acted in the Steven Seagal film Flight of Fury in 2007.

This year, she appeared in the ensemble cast of The Colour of Magic with Sean Astin and Jeremy Irons, based on the Terry Pratchett novel of the same name.Chicks with swords never gets old.

Now she can be seen scorching the desert with her exotic beauty in The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior, out now on dvd. The film also stars Michael Copon of One Tree Hill and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fame and former UFC champion Randy “The Natural” Couture.
We wish all our girlfriends in Canada looked this good.

In Scorpion King 2, Karen plays Layla, Mathayus’ childhood friend and love. Layla is a young feisty, woman warrior with a chip on her shoulder. She needs to prove to men and herself that she can battle as well as the men.

Karen is no stranger to swordplay or action “unbecoming of a woman”, as she developed a strong interest in fencing and sword-fighting while in college despite others’ dismay. Currently, she is completing her debut solo album.

Sadly, those clothes are not a mirage.
