NEW DELHI, INDIA - Here is good news for all those who are fond of small cars. Maruti Suzuki, the biggest manufacturer of small cars in the country, is all set to launch the latest toy from its stable, the Maruti Cervo. Although no exact date of the launch of the Maruti Cervo has yet been given out, a tentative date for the Maruti Cervo launch in India has been set at sometime around the months of May or June 2010.
The Maruti Cervo is expected to be priced at around 1.5 to 3 lacs, although it is being stated that the price may even come down to 2 lacs. In any case, the price tag is going to be ridiculously low even in comparison to the other cars of Maruti Suzuki.Even before the Maruti Cervo launch in India, there are ample speculations about the Maruti Cervo price. It has already taken up the place of the Maruti 800, which, besides being the first economy car in the country, has so far been the cheapest car. Now it is being expected that with the launch of the Maruti Cervo in the Indian market, there will now be some stiff competition for the Tata Nano, which took over the market with its compelling tag line of being the only "People's car."
